We are committed to accurate, useful, and clearly-sourced information about tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) surgery. This page explains how we work.
How articles are created
Articles are researched and written using authoritative sources, such as the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), BAPRAS, the NHS, and peer-reviewed plastic-surgery research, which we cite at the foot of every article. The lived-experience parts of the site, the week-by-week diary, are written from personal experience and clearly framed as one person’s account.
Medical review
Articles covering clinical topics are reviewed by a consultant plastic surgeon before publication. Reviewed articles display the reviewer’s name, credentials, and the date of review. Our current reviewer is Mr Daniel Okafor, MBBS, FRCS(Plast).
Separating experience from clinical fact
This site deliberately mixes two things: personal experience and checked clinical information. We keep them distinct. A first-person account of how recovery felt is shared for support and context; the figures, risks, and recovery guidance are drawn from the sources above and confirmed in review. What was true for one person is not a clinical recommendation for anyone else.
Keeping content current
We review published articles periodically and update them as surgical practice and guidance change. Each article shows its publication date and, where applicable, when it was last updated or reviewed.
Independence
We do not accept payment to recommend any clinic, surgeon, or destination, and our content is written to inform, not to sell. Any commercial relationships, should we ever add them, will be disclosed clearly.
