My Shape Back

An abdominoplasty, week by week, from the decision through the long recovery.

A tummy tuck, week by week, as it really went.

Privacy Policy

Last refreshed: June 19, 2026

A tummy tuck, and your reasons for considering one, are about as personal as it gets. What you read about it should stay private to you. We have built My Shape Back (“we”, “us”) to hold as little data as possible and to respect your privacy. This page explains, plainly, what we collect and what you can do about it.

The short version

We don’t run ads, we don’t sell data, we don’t build a profile of you, and we don’t want your medical details. The longer version below just spells that out.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to myshapeback.com. It describes the information that may be involved when you read our articles, follow a link, or get in touch, and the choices you have. It does not cover other websites we link to, which have their own policies.

The one thing we ask you not to send

Please don’t send us photographs of your body, your scar, your surgical history, or details of a recovery complication. We can’t assess them, email is not a secure channel for sensitive personal information, and anything that concerns you about your recovery belongs with your surgical team, not an inbox. If you do send such details, we will not store them beyond what it takes to reply and ask you to contact a clinician.

What we do collect

We keep collection to a minimum:

  • What you choose to send us. If you use our Contact page, we receive your message and whatever you include, such as a name or email address.
  • Standard delivery data. To serve pages securely, our hosting and content delivery network process routine technical details such as your IP address and browser type.
  • Aggregated visit data. We may record anonymised, grouped statistics, for example which guides are read most often, so we can tell what is genuinely useful.

Why we collect it

The little we gather serves three purposes only: to keep the site running and secure, to understand which content helps people most so we can prioritise it, and to reply to messages you send us. That is the whole list.

Analytics and cookies

Where we measure traffic, we use a privacy-conscious analytics provider configured to minimise what it sees, including IP anonymisation and no cross-site tracking. We do not follow you around the web. You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings at any time.

Who else touches your data

We do not sell your information and do not use it for advertising profiling. The only parties that handle data on our behalf are the infrastructure providers that make the site work, namely a content delivery network and a privacy-conscious analytics provider. We share personal information beyond this only where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We hold your correspondence only for as long as it takes to deal with your enquiry and any sensible follow-up, then remove it. Aggregated analytics are kept no longer than we need to read general trends.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may be entitled to access, correct, delete, or restrict the information we hold about you, or to object to certain uses of it. To exercise any of these, write to us through our Contact page and we will respond as the law requires.

Children’s privacy

This is a resource for a general adult audience and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age at which they can consent to such processing where they live.

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to safeguard the limited data we hold. No transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, so while we take care, we cannot promise absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy as the site develops. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
